"I opened Jacuzzi Family Vineyards in 2007 to honor my beloved grandfather Valeriano Jacuzzi. As a teenager and young man, my grandfather taught me how to tease magic from the soil. The stonework and design of the Jacuzzi Family Vineyards and The Olive Press building is a tribute to our Jacuzzi family home in Casarsa, Italy." — Fred Cline
From Italy (Udine, in the Friuli region) to America, from building the first enclosed cabin high-wing monoplane, to manufacturing water well pumps and the bath and spa that bears their name, to planting Contra Costa farm fields with grapes and starting to make wine in 1936, the family’s activities spanned several decades starting in 1907. Four generations of the extensive Jacuzzi family have made major contributions to their adopted country. Living through three wars, a family disaster and uncertainty, they went on to build an international enterprise that has made the name Jacuzzi known throughout the world.
The current patriarch, Fred Cline, learned winemaking from his grandfather and is passing on his knowledge to the next generation of seven. Not only winemaking but also his deep love for his Italian heritage and his passion for helping the Bay Area Italian community.
